The reason am asking is many companies that i have applied for have a much lesser salary budget? Their recruiting dept is outsourced and I can’t tell if it’s a lack of response from the hiring managers or the recruiters… but yup, slow..
So frustrating! You would think when a candidate says they have another offer and need to know by the end of the week, that they would at least respond or send a holding message… something, anything.
I had something similar with JPM! The recruiters just…ghosted me and the hiring manager keeps posting the role months later.

I don’t have experience working at either company. However, if STT can’t get its act together in time, you should do what you need to do. I don’t suppose you tried contacting the hiring manager directly for the STT job? That might elicit a faster response than trying to go through the recruiter.
So technically, I already did do what I need to do with the other job, but the longer I wait the harder it is to not burn a bridge. Since JPM is through an external recruiter and contract to hire; I was honest with the recruiter and he told me to accept now to secure the role and if I got a better offer, it was absolutely fine to back out any time and wouldn’t be held against me. JPM is an excellent fit, pay and manager, but they will not bend on 3 days in person. The beat scenario for my family right now is fully remote, which is what SS was offering and why I wish they would figure it out… because if the pay is similar, I’ll have no choice but to back out and take SS offer as my kids need me home / not commuting an extra 10hrs a week.
