Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. People leave JP for obvious reasons and they find it hard to get someone to replace that candidate.
But extending the notice would only make it difficult for us to leave, end of the day that’s the objective!
Imagine how it would be doing if all the top talent didn’t always leave for better pay somewhere else.

You can always just leave. Considering they are an at will employer and don't really have to give an employee notice to let them go. There is no law specifying that you must give them notice unless you got a sign on bonus or something in contract.
You are right, if your offer letter states a time frame you must give notice. I was pointing out your not forced to stay there though you do risk not being able to rehire. Increasing the notice period won't stop people if they are getting a 20 percent raise from where they are at and not having to commute. With the economy getting more expensive you will see people leave just because they are paid low and have better opportunities elsewhere. Also people don't want to be in the office, it is a waste of time and money on commuting.

They have come to realise that people nowadays don’t think twice before resigning because the market standards currently in pay terms is on spike ,at-least in tech domain. Hiring at JPMC is slow and very tight because obviously they can’t just hire anyone, hence the 2 month NP
Not difficult to replace people at Amazon.
