Thoughts on deciding between offers from two practices in the tech diligence space? I currently am an SA at PwC. Both of these options I would be lateraling in as an SA:

1. EY Parthenon Software Strategy Group
2. Strategy& Deals Strategy & Value Creation (Tech Strategy sub group)

EYP one, if the other one is EY

funny

@Consultant 1: Strategy& is the strategy consulting arm of PWC

Imagine 2 will have worse WLB. I’ve heard EYP is not doing great recently.

like

Interpreting your second sentence as a non sequitur - You’re saying S& may have worse WLB, but also EYP is not doing great. Is that right?

What are you looking to optimize for? Money is slightly better at S& and few of the folks in the team are ex-EYP
Also, EYP is not doing that well; ~70% of the folks didn’t get a bonus last year

like

Both of them are solid T2, though a few folks here consider S& slightly ahead of EYP in terms of brand recognition/ prestige.
I work closely with the tech team and I know they have a good team culture (+ better WLB than some other DSVC teams).

On paper 2 sounds better, for whatever it’s worth

Comp for offer #2?

Hello

SSG is best in breed for product & tech due diligence. There’s more structure and training in place, and exits are really strong (routinely to PE firms on both deal & ops teams, strategy roles at startups, etc). You’ll have more opportunity to work with top PE firms. Strategy& has a few SSG alumni in their similar group, but it’s smaller / newer / less mature than SSG’s practice

Im in SSG

Brigadeiro are scrumptious dulce de leche caramel bonbons, a beloved confection of Brazil. Brigadeiro is made from sweetened condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder which is heated in a saucepan until it thickens and becomes a sticky caramel. Once it cools, it is rolled into a ball and dipped in multicolored sprinkles.

The iconic bonbon was named after Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, a 1946 presidential candidate. It was created to win voter support. (He lost).

Does anyone run a business in addition to their firm? I’m a solo and I’m doing pretty well with about 60-70 billable hours a month. Though that leaves a lot of downtime. Curious if anyone has any second businesses that require about 20 hours a week. Not looking for passive income or franchise ideas though.

My partner of 5 years ended our relationship last night. I’m shattered and feel absolutely sick, and I know the healing isn’t going to be easy. We were on the verge of an engagement and I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him.

I don’t know how to approach work during this time. I think I can get by, but I’m definitely not 100%. Should I talk to my boss about it? My team is close-knit and comfortable around each other, but I don’t know if it’s “appropriate.” What would you do?

About rolling off my project with no new project opportunity yet. I’m already getting anxious and can’t have a full night rest with the worry of not finding a project soon and eventually getting laid off. Although I tend to stress-out easily but this type of anxiety is different. Are others feeling the same way?
