Thoughts on getting your boss a birthday gift? Hear me out, I love getting others gifts and my Manager‘s birthday is next week. Would it be inappropriate if I were to get them a little gift? I don’t want him or my coworkers to think I’m kissing up though.

I have always given my manager a birthday gift. It's either a small individual gift or I go in on a group gift. I feel it's up to the individual if they want to give one or not. Same with giving a Christmas gift.

I love gift giving, so I do it every year. It doesn't have to be anything big or extravagant. Sometimes even a nice card with a gift card can be a nice gesture. I don't think it is inappropriate at all.

We got our sup a gift as a team this year

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?
