Why is attrition heavy in big 4?
Got an offer from ACN for a Senior Manager role and was curious if there is a defined process to get Managing Director, or is it all gut feel and back room deals?
Is MBB (mostly thinking about McKinsey) really that bad in terms of WLB? I feel like people tend to exaggerate things sometimes - i was told i'd be working approximately 65h at Deloitte in Tech Strategy and honestly that barely ever happened. I wasn't considering switching since I love my job and my team, but many people are telling me I shouldn't "waste" my potential at Deloitte (whatever that means...). They kind of got to me and now i'm looking for more info about the culture/work at MBB.

Got promoted to senior but did not get a raise to go with it. Firm keeping salaries flat this year due to COVID-19, but I was shocked when I found out promoted staff wouldn’t be getting a raise either. To me, this whole thing rings hollow because the firm has told us multiple times that they were projecting flat growth for the year when compared to last year (which was one of the best in firm history). Hello, we recently built out a technology team at our company. They are a phenomenal team with great work flow, rapport and collaboration however, most are junior in their career which can make it difficult for our senior lead to step away. They all receive professional dev allowances so we would like to work toward identifying possible future leads and laying out a growth plan. Do any of you have best practices, tips or resources in doing this specifically for tech talent?

Folks, after 9 years in Tech and Mgmt Consulting in same company, with exposure of working across many geographies, about to become a Manager in Dec, I have got an offer from an ex client to help them with their Digital Transformation in their Digital/IT dept. - and the position is in Europe, and money is absolutely no comparison to what I make here in India, its TREMENDOUS. My core team in current org left last year. Now this opp has come. Should I move?

I have a good offer outstanding from a tech firm (350K TC) and just got connected to a recruiter from one of the alternative investment firms (PE/Hedge/VC 35bn AUM) in NYC and it seems they want to go through the process with me. The base range given is 350K (excluding bonus and others). TC wise.. I'd like to try and see how far I can go but the tech firm is something that I really like. Is working at PE or hedge fund considered a prestige experience? YoE 14 all in consulting. Worth trying?
