I'm at blackrock and we pay fine, Russell sucks for early levels but then can pay well, but besides some finance roles it's all tech

Every tech company has HR, accounting, sales, people management, project management, scrum master, product manager, marketing, etc… Tons of jobs within a tech company don’t require tech skills or coding. When your career is locked to a single industry it’s a risk, like say nursing. If the medical field tanks their options are limited. HR can shift from a tech company to a hospital without too much trouble. I wouldn’t focus on the abundance of high quality tech companies and get discouraged. They are some of the strongest companies in the world from a balance sheet perspective. I’d focus on how can you build a career to move between industries and leverage the strength of the local tech companies as great employers.

You’re on target there. They’re doing a lot more vertical integration, and thanks to the FTC, are becoming more of a monopoly.

UHC is vile when it comes to their business practices and damage patients by denying things such as medications that are effective for the patient, just to save a couple of bucks.

It’s disgusting.

Consulting is fine provided you’re ok with travel

I work at a major law firm doing business development and marketing, and make $155k a year plus bonus and other incentives. There are often earlier career positions at law firms for marketing, events, and finance that pay $75k-100k (bigger firms tend to pay better than the smaller regional firms). Not sure about compensation, but other professional service providers (e.g., accounting and construction firms) will have similar roles.

Between selling in retail banking environment and every month of insurance sales regularly pacing 200% or over to goal. Went in to check compare sizes for an Aqua Terra (green dial) but now torn between that and Moonwatch Sapphire (manual wind but the case in the back is just 😍)

Surprisingly the Moonwatch felt smaller (even though it’s 42mm vs 41mm Aqua terra) but I’m not sure about the manual wind tbh - worried I’d break it

This is going to be my main watch for the next 20+ years so I want to make sure I pick correctly!

Hi everyone I am relocating to Hyderabad next month. Even though I look forward to meeting new people I can’t seem to ignore the fact that I will move away from family. My family situation is already complicated, my mom and dad are not on good terms so we don’t live together and when I move it’ll get worse. I am financially independent but I feel guilty for not being there for them. Is there any possibility of getting transferred to Gurgaon office(a lot closer to my home)if I talk to my manager?

Been a coach at the collegiate level for 6 years. Make a $65k salary. Want to leave coaching and break into sales/marketing/recruiting/consulting. I have ample leadership and recruiting experience with a strong work ethic.

I’m assuming I’m going to have to take a pay cut and start toward bottom of totem pole. Any recommendations/advice on roles to apply for since I’m new to the field? Would like to be in tech if possible in Charlotte, NC or remote.
