JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Before you dive into Amex, it's usually the optimal strategy to fill out your 5/24 slots with other Chase cards first. If you haven't, get the Ink cards so you can up your UR balance. For example, I accumulated around 300k UR points before getting into Amex.
As others have mentioned, the Gold is a better daily driver, but you may want to start with the Plat for the higher bonus. With that said, there really isn't a rush to get into Amex because you only get the SUB once. Explore other issuers first like Citi or Cap One. Once you run out of options, then go to Amex.
OP, yes unless you already got the SUBs for them in the last 24 months. Also BCG is right about Amex having a historic high. But that's up to you because Amex and Chase operate differently.
Amex gold is the best bet for MR points on grocery spend, rather than platinum.
Agree with D1. The platinum has 10x on grocery for the first 6 months but after that the gold is the way to go. Happy to refer you for either!
Are you still using any perks like Doordash or Peloton reimbursement for CSR? If so, no need to cancel unless you already hit your annual fee. Even so, you have 40ish days after to still convert your card and get a credit on your fee.
For me I converted to a Chase Freedom Unlimited vs the Flex because of the 1.5% earn on all purchases.
No downside to getting the Amex Platinum other than having to hit the $5k spend requirement. I did what you did a few years ago (pre-Covid) and when I called to cancel the Platinum after the first year, they offered to reimburse me for the annual fee the second year!
OP take a look at the Freedom Flex and entire ecosystem of free chase cards before you make the switch, IMO those cards are what make the CSR worth it - since you can combine those points into your reserve account
Why not have both? Amex has been fantastic in making platinum worth the annual fee during the pandemic year with their offers that are easy to redeem. I also have the chase trifecta that again makes it worth it to keep the CSR. Not a huge spender here either, but the rewards are far more worth it than the annual fees
I have both. I think you can make the case for both.
