I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

Once you’ve applied via referral link to a position, does it keep you in a referral pool or do you need to constantly get a new referral link if you apply to another role say 4 months later? Curious since they only last 30 days and i feel bad asking for a link a 3rd time now…..

My friend have cleared Tata Elxsi interview 5 months back and received her offer letter. Still now she haven’t recvd a joining letter. Couple of other friends are also facing similar issue.
Does anyone have any update on this?
Tried mailing to the HR and to their help desk. No response.
Its really disappointing. Even if they are not able to onboard candidates now, the least they can do is aknowledge and respond to the queries.
Hope someone can give more insight onto this issue.

I’ll go first: MP told me that on initial emails, I am always to start with “Hello [name],” but after the initial email, I am not to address her by name again in the same thread. Initial greeting can only be “Hello [name] ” because just first name is too brisk and a “Hi [name]” is too informal. Had a 5 minute, in depth conversation as to why she prefers it this way…

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

I got an offer at Nokia, and my new manager said that she wanted to put me in the higher salary bracket however the HR insisted that we lowered the range. That caused me to receive a much lower salary than expected. Should I renegotiate even when my manager said that she tried giving me more. Does HR really play that big of a role in this?

What would be considered great operating exit ops at startups coming from VC?

Dilemma… I left my old company 4 months ago. Today, they’ve reached out to me to ask me to come back at a higher role, Operations Manager. I would’ve jumped on this opportunity if they asked me before. However, this role would be hybrid (2x in office) and come along with more responsibilities and hours than my current WFH role which is very chill. The pay is only 15% more than I currently make. Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
