I'm suffering from crippling fear and anxiety about changing careers and I don't know how to drag myself out of the abyss. I'm afraid I'm going to end up stuck here for the rest of my life if I don't find a way to overcome this.

What were your role changes? I’m looking to get out of IB, but also have a crippling fear with my next job move will make me worse off. Although, I know IB isn’t the right fit for me…

My job is really taking a toll on my mental health and I want to get out of finance entirely but have no idea what else I would do

Hi there! Same situation here sadly. Started applying for analyst roles (3 YOE) in beauty companies (ELC, L’Oréal..) as this is where my interest lies and FMCG as analytical skills are easily transferrable into these roles. But so far have only got rejections.

Managed to get interviews in Pricing teams in other industries (energy, electronics) etc but am falling short as my Excel skills are intermediate at best.

Any advice or options I should probably take a look at?

Would like to get into a low stress job and preferably not client facing. Where might I be in demand?

Thanks so much for your help!

I have been struggling with my current job and finding an exit opportunity as well. The longer I stay in this company the harder it is to keep my mental health in check. However, the employment market is not the best right now so I have no choice but to stay. If someone has any leads please do let me know!

Change is definitely hard but we all get through it. We all have to go through it, its how we grow and become strong.

This is very true. The more we change and grow, the better we become.

Just writing here after a loooooooooong day of work. The hours are killer and I'm just not sure if it's worth it anymore. Trying to figure out what the next move is going to be!

Start putting applications out. You really never know what might land in your lap.

On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

Hi, where or what types of companies should sophomores & juniors apply for next summer (2022) to recruit for IB the following summer (2023)? This summer BBs wrapped up SA IB recruitment, EBs even earlier, and a fair amount of my friends missed out big time.

Also, if a sophomore or junior doesn’t get a finance-related summer internship (I.e tech) and aims for an IB SA or FT position, is it harder to break in?

Appreciate any advice and insight, thank you.

Hi all,

My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

What is this? This is normal?

Stereotyping?
Racism?

The first time I ignored that, but now it has become a pattern and is bothering me now. I am south-American working in the UK.
