Not too late if you have a good reason for doing it. No reason you couldn’t get big law if you go T14 and have great grades
Mike Ross got his pretty late. Worked out for him.
But, Mike Ross has a photographic memory.
Yes don’t do it.

Literally every lawyer I’ve talked to says don’t be a lawyer lmao

As someone who’s been through one of those degrees - the people who struggled the most were people who were unsure of why they were getting the degree and didn’t have clear goals afterwards.
If you don’t know what you want, paying several hundred thousand dollars to get a degree isn’t going to change that.
Way too late. If you're not prepping for your LSAT by the end of middle school, its kind of a lost cause.
You don’t prepare for the LSAT, it prepares for you
I went to law school and never practiced a day in my life. Unless you love the law and legal research, do not go to law school.
I just finished mine and I’m 34. You’ll be fine. You’ll be one of the older ones but age is just a number. Fuck it.
120k pre and 145k post. I’m not in it for money though so I would not go this route if a large comp increase initially is a big concern
Edit** I guess it depends on the area of law you’re interested in so take my comment with a grain of salt. Environmental law is personally the right route for me but not the most lucrative
I considered it at a similar age. Maybe a year less. Studied for lsat and took it.
I chose to not go. Got a few promotions here and didn’t lose income in the process. Eventually plan to start a business with what I was able to save.
Don’t love my job now but also didn’t love law - so you really need to figure out what your end goals really are.

Got my jd at 30. MBA at 38. Never Kate. Do it if you want to.
Practiced Biglaw (corporate) for awhile pre-consulting. For me, law was way more miserable than consulting in so many ways. Please do your due diligence and talk to as many lawyers as possible before you make a jump. They're not happy. Or, just join the Biglaw Bowl to get a flavor of their existential angst and see how it compares to discussions on this bowl.
I barely dodged the biglaw bullet. Can’t say the $30k I made in a summer wasn’t nice, but dear god having to do 1800 billable miserable hours is just not worth it. Still remember everyone freaking out at me when I turned them down, the firm asked me to talk with the SA committee managing partner because I was the only SA to turn down an offer in like a decade.
9 years later and I’m barely making more than I would have as a first year, but I work remotely in tech from the middle of nowhere, have basically no oversight, and probably work 20 hours a week. So much happier.
Don’t go, unless you feel you really have to and know why you’re there
Your 3 jumps all over the place. I’d recommend CISSP as you can get it for $1000 and 6 months of studying. The other 2 you listed are kind of big deals
I’ve got a JD and CISSP let me know if you want to chat or feel free to ask specific questions here.
*Too… 🚩 🚩🚩
I realized after I hit sent. I knew someone would say it.
MBA at 29. Thinking about JD at 32.
Do it if its what you really want
It’s not too late. APDs all start 3close to 30. Remember some of us do an MBA AND residency before we start. Or JD/MBAs etc.
What about ER physicians. Attending level
If you get them all, you have to promise that you’ll be a LinkedIn d*bag and post every possible irrelevant letter after your name. Why get degrees if you can’t flex them?
Why would you want a jd? Is it 1980?
