Today, I got up, made coffee, changed and fed the baby, prepped a presentation, forgot my 6yo’s Zoom class, got her up and on the Zoom class, presented ugly news to my MD, did a school drive-by parade, fed the kids lunch, met with my directs, prepped the follow ups from the MD presentation, taught 4 homeschool lessons, said goodbye to my mentor, prepped for a pitch, cooked dinner, made my weekend to-do list, gave two baths, and scooped poop out of one bath. It was a slow day.

Is it the smart move to take a pay cut and clerk for a judge?

Little context: I was an ED student, full time paralegal/clerk throughout my law school experience, and a single mother. I did not take advantage of the law school extracurriculars and missed out on clerk application deadlines my final year (2020). Would it benefit me to take a pay cut as a transactional clerk by about $20k to work as a clerk for a year then re-enter firm life? I’m transactional and enjoy that line of work.

At what point do you stop splitting rent/bills 50/50 with your fiance? I was married for 3 years & she left 1 day bc she realized that she was no longer “happy”. A week later, I caught her in a parking lot w/ her coworker & finalized the divorce. Has anyone heard or experienced going on maternity leave, then leaving shortly after returning? I'm hearing from my husband's company if he takes pat leave, and leaves shortly after returning, he'd have to repay the wages paid while out on leave. Is this only for pat leave and the person who gives birth wouldn't have to pay back as it's technically disability pay? Trying to weigh my options as I want to get out of my company, but want the mat leave first.
