You don’t want to get to be a 53 yr old Director who is not going to make partner or MD, just trust me on this one….
I'm currently making mid 300s TC.
Likely. Need to talk to the partners are the firm to discuss
Have they told you that the position would be on partner track? You are probably on the edge of being too old but not quite
Depends on the firms mandatory age and vesting requirements. MD is likely a better path
Consider CLA - I recently made principal in late 40s and I’m told I still have a chance for equity. Feel free to PM if you are interested
Why not sue for the mandatory retirement age. That’s ageism
MD is a better option for you
Agree
Can someone explain this to me? If you make partner by 50, you still have around 10 years before retirement. Is that not worth it?
How long can you stock around as an MD once you hit 60/65? (From what I understand there arent mandatory retirement ages for non-partners)
RSM does not have a mandatory partner retirement age. Why not go for partner where you are at?
I left RSM but at another top10 firm. I am on track to make partner but the caliber of talent here isn't so great and I'd rather be at a firm where my peers and staff motivate me. I'm doing just enough to get by now, but I'm still considered a relatively high performer (though I'm only putting in ~50% of my full potential).
