I’m convinced we all feel the same way about this but the loud minority will cancel us if we voice it widely
I also agree
To debate this intelligently you have to ask a question or two first: Why are there separate men’s and women’s leagues/divisions for most athletics/sports? Is it because a difference in the physicality or physical capability of each? If the answer yes, then as much as I empathize and support someone who wants to be who/what they feel like, the physicality difference still remains and disrupts fair competition.
So let’s keep asking questions. What message does it send to little girls, let’s say elementary aged girls who follow high school sports (maybe they love track or maybe they just follow because they have an older sibling)? Are we sending an empowering message to little girls when they see women’s sports being dominated by males? Does that send the message that their womanliness is valued in their community? Do you think it’s likely to be encouraging to them, to make them feel like they can be the best, and like they have good role models they can identify with and relate to? What opportunities are we telling them are available to them?
Will I get reported if I share my thoughts?
I’d be more worried about what happens when we don’t.
it’s not fair to biological women
Very true this should not be a left or right issue. “It is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone, to believe anything upon insufficient evidence” - W.K. Clifford
Unfortunately that is exactly what people are doing in relation to this issue and it is to the detriment of society as a whole. But especially these kids.
I empathize and support transgender individuals. This ain’t it though. There’s a reason men’s and women’s sports are separated. Couldn’t we just say sports is based on your biological sex, not gender, and be free of this nonsense? It just doesn’t seem fair in its current iteration. Imagine soccer. Or other physically demanding sports.
