Previously worked at a large bank based in New York - 20 weeks
Currently at an insurance company based in Massachusetts - 18 weeks
Yes
12 weeks for mother and 6 for father bonding.
Paid?!
6 weeks short term disability, paid at 100%. Then primary care givers get 12 weeks paid in full (moms and dads can take it) or paternal leave is 4 weeks paid in full.
18 weeks off fully paid, 20 weeks if it’s a c section for maternity leave. 6-8 weeks paid via Short Term Disability and 12 weeks paid by the company.
12 weeks paid for paternity leave and 12 weeks paid if you’re adopting.
United States company
24 weeks fully paid. 12 weeks for paternity (also fully paid). I'm based out of MA.
I work in Oregon and we have a new state run Paid Leave. It is 12 weeks and is more generous than what FMLA covers for the people you can take leave for and reasons for leave. It is only partial pay, but companies can supplement so that employees receive the full amount of their pay while out. My old company, (manufacturing) is considering offering extra pay to make up for what the Paid Leave does not cover.
Large bank- 20weeks fully paid maternity/ paternity/ adoption
Aren’t benefits and paid leave mandated by state employment laws?
No clue! Not in HR — just thought that they had to follow very specific employment laws for each state. In my previous company, sick pay eligibility (and covid sick pay) varied per state for example, California is the jackpot state and you got everything in tenfold, but Texas was slim pickings.
8 weeks with short term disability
depends on your state -
my godmothers daughter got a year off at whole foods she’s in management
What country?
My last company. Start up. 250 people. I let my two directs take as much time as they needed. Paid their checks in full. Both decided to comeback within months but in staggered fashion. (IE, 4/5 days, event based, etc).
Current company. We do 6 months. Once it gets to family leave level, we close the delta on the $$$ to make sure they get the full paycheck for 6 months. Can stagger the leave. Publicly traded company.
