Trying to sus out a role that is being framed as the CFO without the title.. What are some responsibilities of a CFO role that truly make you say oh yes this is the CFO, even though they may not have that title?

Some that I can think of:
Is it having the final call on all financial decisions outside the CEO?

Being the first point of contact for anything related to financial strategy or long term planning?

Key point of contact for external partners when it comes to anything financials related?

Would anyone be willing to talk about FDD or give a referral? Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)
