Yes absolutely. If enlisted get yourself attached to a Junior NCO to show you the ropes. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, be eager to learn, and listen. The first job of any leader is to create more leaders. If you are a young officer, find the first SNCO in your chain and ask him or her to take you under their wing. I remember as a young 2LT, I had a Supply E7 MSgt take me under his wing and he taught me what it meant to be a leader and what he needed from me as one of his officers. I retired after 26 years as a Colonel (O6) and I reflect fondly on that SNCO for taking the time to teach me about leadership and followership. Give it some time, ask questions and listen. You will grow into feeling adequate.
Let me know if you have difficulty linking up with a mentor, I still have relationships with several SNCOs who were once A1C and SrA when I mentored them. I know many who would love to share their experiences.
Ask yourself how many sacrifices you have made to get to where you are and if you learned all you could learn along the way. Now if you feel that something is missing it may be something that you have to learn on a day-to-day basis i.e. something that you didn't learn in the academy.
That is a matter of nerves, do not despair if you have not been scolded you are doing well, and yes if you were scolded you will have your chance to improve you will see, almost all of us feel that way when we occupy a new position.
