Venting post but appreciate advice appreciated: Growing my book of business at a firm where I’m trying to build a practice area they didn’t have. Had a bad day today - getting killed from all sides. Constantly getting calls and emails from clients, something was incorrectly filed and don’t yet have associates who know the area well enough to take work on fully independently. I am assured to make EP this yr but may have to check out of the profession in the next couple years for my backup plan.

Hi,
Need some advice. My pet had been eating his kebble food on a consistent basis. Then I introduced a bit of raw chicken into his kebble and loved having it even more. But now I'm realizing that if I don't add chicken, he just doesn't eat his regular kebble food. What should I do? (Don't want to feed chicken every day)

Any folks here familiar with the Fremont school districts (California)? Looking to buy a house there. Daughter will be starting elementary school next year. Thoughts on choosing Irvington vs American attendance area? Also open to recommendations for good school districts in other affordable Bay Area locations. Current plan is to buy a place and live there through elementary, middle and high school for minimal disruptions (but who knows what will happen in the future).

I will go for maternity leave from mid October. Will I get hike on November? I joined on last year November. Also I got very less variable pay in the month of May. It was 8.5% of my 6months salary. Will it be same percentage on 6months salary or 1yr salary this time?

Advice Request: Started my career litigating. Switched to niche transactions (so about half and half at this point). Halfway through a year long sabbatical and reevaluating what I want to do (left before jumping to Senior associate). What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.
