In a DEI board you’ll probably get a resounding “no”…but let me tell you from a normal perspective that is totally fine
Agreed
I think capitalist christmas is okay but christian christmas is a no.
Christmas is okay, but red/green color themes are ableist because people with red/green color blindness can’t enjoy the contrast
It's okay to use red and green, as well as other colors. Red, green and black are Kwanzaa colors. Purple and yellow covers Muslim holidays. Blue, white and silver covers Hanukkah. Tibetan Buddhists use blue, white, red, green and yellow. With a little imagination, you probably can cover any color set you want. I'd just use a little bit of everything and not worry about it. Although I'm Christian, I'd probably not use Santa hats, because why allow someone to have an excuse to be offended? Snowflakes are always good in winter, as they only offend Heat Miser.
Dude… yeah. Come on. Christmas is a national holiday. It’s not like you’re putting up a nativity scene in the office. If you have Jewish/other non Christmas celebrating people, then absolutely include some blue/white/menorahs etc. as well! It is exclusive to the majority to pretend Christmas itself is offensive.
Red/green and blue/white (especially one over the other) also opens you up to political backlash. Look at Marks and Spencer’s (UK department store) holiday ad campaign. They used those colors for a Christmas ad and received backlash due to the unfortunate timing with current political events.
I mean depends Christmas was stolen from pagans. So red and green is fine but IDK about Santa…
I worked for a church for 8 years no thank you.
I think it's ok on a personal level to do stuff like that. If you are the one organizing it then, unless you are making sure to do it in a way that equally celebrates all of the different holidays, it might not be a good idea.
Yes absolutely Santa is awesome
