Was unexpectedly laid off after giving a startup 150% effort. Feeling pretty down and anxious given that I just moved into a new apartment — my rent increased drastically given how terrible the housing market has been in nyc (this occurred even though I moved out of Manhattan)… would appreciate any words of encouragements or kindness — feelings of imposter syndrome have been putting salt in the wound. I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. Took LOA last year, multiple months. Recovered from burnout driven by long hours during covid. But feel like I'm now experiencing burnout in a different form. Don't feel drained but I'm just unmotivated to do anything in life and work. I don't want to eat, exercise, go places, or work. Do you ever feel guilty for jumping a job within 6 months of joining for a $40k+ salary bump? - not that you should by any means but how do you rationalize it? How do you not get attached to your team/colleagues/etc.?

I’ve been onboarding at a new company for a month. I’ve been assigned to PM something a director in another department originally proposed, but I am really struggling to work out how to deal with her territorialism and defensiveness. She is insisting on being in on every conversation I have with a stakeholder, gets angry if I answer a question asked directly of me, and shoots down literally everything I’ve suggested. Her team will do most of the implementation. Any ideas on how to “manage up”?
