Thoughts on Mindshare Chicago?
Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

I assume they ask them to do this
This. I think tou nailed it.
6 years USMC and I can’t imagine doing something like that. It’s attention seeking behavior. I would laugh at them

Ok here’s a legitimate question because I’m honestly curious now and this seems strange to me. I’m not military but grew up in a military town and have seen people in uniform my whole life. Grocery store, in traffic on the freeway, I thought maybe, well, I live next to a massive Marine Corps base, maybe it’s the same as me wearing slacks and a dress shirt to work to see them in fatigues. If they’re in a dress uniform, they must have an event or presentation they’re going to. But I’ve been to weddings too where the whole groom party is in dress uniform so I guess I’m confused…
1.) Do you only wear dress uniform to a formal military event
2.) Is there any issue wearing fatigues in public? Because I see people on the plane, in the grocery store, picking up kids from school, etc. Are fatigues like work clothes and the dress uniform is more sacred?
Sorry for the questions, I’m just honestly curious and never knew the rules. Thanks!
I mean, I could see a couple of different reasons why:
1) they’re very proud and consider it an incredible honor to wear that uniform and represent the respective branch
2) The military might have a “PR” policy for something like that where a higher up “orders” them to do it - you don’t disobey that direct order

You’re right, it is an unpopular opinion.
Agreed ASM1. That would also solve a lot of the hatred people have for their country right now.
I think there is one reason for it. Only old people watch wheel of fortune.
