My clinic did tell me - at least 1 year postpartum and I had to be done breastfeeding. I ended up waiting about 14 months before starting meds for another egg retrieval, and did two frozen transfers (second one worked) at about 17 months and 19 months postpartum.
No. FWIW, I had a c-section, but they told me I would need to wait at least a year before I delivered my first.
Similar situation and my clinic said I can’t even schedule the initial appointment to start a transfer cycle until 12 months post partum. So we will end up doing the first transfer between 13-14 months post partum. We stopped bfing at 10 months after an illness so that wasn’t a consideration.
We did IUI for our first, not IVF, but we decided to wait 1 year before considering trying again. At one year we decided we weren’t quite ready. Re-evaluated at 18 months and decided to go back to the fertility clinic. Due to my own unique situation we decided to do a trial of just tracking ovulation for a few months, which was successful so I didn’t have to have fertility treatments for my second pregnancy.
That’s awesome!
We had to wait a year but since I was bf and didn’t want to rush my son off, I waited until 18 months. We did a transfer a few weeks after we completely stopped and it was successful.
My clinic recommends 12 months postpartum. They said if I wanted sooner needed a note from my ob. Takes some time once you start to get the tests and everything
And my OB recommended 18 months between deliveries, so about 8 months post partum. And I had a c section. So definitely possible to start sooner than a year
I stopped breastfeeding at 8 months, and then we started an FET cycle at 18 months. I probably could have done the FET a little earlier if we had been in a rush.
I was happy to have a good break between ending nursing and starting again, because that’s when I started to feel like myself again. I was always combo feeding so I didn’t expect that ending nursing would impact me as much as it did.
My RE clinic is on the more conservative side and recommended 12 months after vaginal delivery and 18 months after a c section. My OB said 12 months for either delivery type.
I had a IVF baby, nursed for 14 months, was planning to do IVF again and popped up unexpectedly pregnant when my baby/toddler was 20 months right when I was planning to go in for another retrieval.
The clinic called and asked why I hadn’t made my appt to come in and I said “well my period never came, so I took a pregnancy test and it was positive”
