We just spent $40K on a strategy consultant who told us things I literally said last quarter. But this time it came in a glossy deck with a logo on the front, so suddenly it’s brilliant and actionable. I’m not even mad at the consultant, they did good work. I’m mad that my voice only seems to count when it’s been laundered through an external agency. I’ve been here three years, built credibility, delivered results… so why is it still so hard to be heard internally? What would you do?

I'm new to marketing and I am not formally educated in it. I have just been learning through experience with the business. I'm supposed to put together a Market report for our sales team to refer to but I have been stuck on what I even include. I have an expensive subscription to a reporting database and I am supposed to translate these technical reports into 20-30 slides.
