I was recently offered a “promotion” from Senior Director to… a Senior Director with a much bigger team.

I’m basically doing the same role the VP did before me (brand, campaigns, strategy, design, web, content all under me).

I was offered NO pay bump with the additional responsibility and NO title change. My base is 200k… and my highest paid direct makes 180k for doing about 1/2 the work. I get no equity because we’re private.

I work for a very profitable tech company. Is this fair?

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?

It’s my second week at this job, was given an assignment to submit jobs into the MLR review system. I did not get the MLR training yet but worked with the existing submissions team and got boss’s approval at the agency to make it happen. Now MLR team asked us to follow the guidelines, and my boss is throwing me under the bus for not “opening” the jobs correctly. I am already breaking down and think I’m a failure, but some people think I’m not being set up for success. Should I move jobs?

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

How do you deal with counter offers? I have an offer to join a larger tech company in a more senior role, with bonus and RSUs that my current start up can’t match. But my current company want me to stay. They offered an increased base salary which is still below the new offer and I went back and said no, so they might increase. This only came about by me exploring a headhunt approach after being underpaid by my current company for the time I’ve been here . Would you hear them out or just leave?

Hi guys. Would anyone have an idea of average salary for L8 in Cloud? Thanks!

Deloitte Accenture PwC Is there a way to bypass the promotion policy of not being able to apply for jobs in 2 or more levels above your current level? Especially, if one joined the company at lowest level with over 8 years experience? Reason was, I took a career break for 6 years and to maximise my chance of getting back into the industry, I applied for a role I was almost guaranteed to get. I had hoped it would be easy to rise in ACN but was met with "you can't be promoted 2 levels above", cont'd in comments
