Went through a BCG interview and didn't get an offer but was told to reapply in 6 months. I've been seeing that 1 year is the typical cooldown period. Is this common to adjust the cooldown period?

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY)..
