I’ve taken my team to escape rooms. This last quarter we had so much interest that we actually were able to have the escape room company bring an escape bus. Afterwards we all went to dinner. We’ve also done Dave and busters, the sports emporium (a place that has laser tag, indoor car racing etc). I’ve taken them to murder mysteries as well. There is an online escape room/murder mystery company if everyone wishes to stay remote. It’s called EscapeShow. This was a lot of fun and we were able to get some of our cross functional team members across the country to join. Here is an email they sent me describing their service: How EscapeShow works:
Our game is a combination of a smart virtual escape room with lots of cool riddles and tasks, with a fun and interactive twist! We incorporate live actors and ask you to provide real information about your group so we can customize the game and add another level of surprise for participants.
The Zoom call begins normally so players don't suspect it's an escape game (or if they know it's an escape game, they aren't expecting a live actor), then the actor "breaks into" the Zoom call. From there, the game begins! Our professional actor will be playing a character who needs help to save a top secret project they've been working on with someone you all know.
Game duration is 50-70 minutes.
Pricing:
Our pricing is determined by the number of players in your group. How many players are you considering for our game? I'll follow up with a quote once I have this information!
Customizing the game:
For this aspect we ask surface level questions about your group, If it's for a personal event with friends/family, we ask things like "Are you celebrating something, if so, what and for whom?" or "Tell us about a funny accident/ experience that happened to someone on your team." If it's for a corporate team building activity we ask things like "What industry or field does your team work in?" or "Is this a specific department/sector playing and if so do they have any motto they repeat?".
There is also the option for you to provide us with the names of all participants, as well as 1-2 interesting facts about them - icebreaker type information, so fun/intriguing things that people would share about themselves. This is most popular for smaller groups, but any group can include personal information. Some examples of player information could be:
"She enjoys traveling, reading, tea, and a good moscow mule"
"Enjoys true crime podcasts, spending time with her dog, and visiting her family"
"He just graduated from college. Lives on a ranch in KS."
"He is a certified scuba diver from Cuba but can't swim"
"Works as a Senior Developer. She loves Star Wars."
I hope this information helps. You are welcome to respond via email, or call me at the below number if any questions come up, or if you'd like to discuss this further! blair@the-escape-show.com

Last time, we visited a gaming pub with an extensive selection of board games. It was great for making connections, and it revealed different sides of some people’s personalities.
There's a lot and every year they come up with new ideas. Last year we do the Escape room game and they are planning for scavenger hunt this year. We always have activities where we work as a group to reach a goal.
Any team building, or even just games can be good relationship builders, getting the conversation going. Basketball can be a hassle but is a team building activity.
