Our annual reviews are approaching & one of my direct reports has been with us for almost six years w/ little growth. My reco was to let him go & find a stronger, hungrier & more motivated designer at the same level. However, my boss instead wants us to promote him in hopes that will spark some motivation. I am not behind this decision & have voiced my multitude of concerns in promoting an employee who doesn't deserve it. HR is behind the decision! Thoughts on promoting an undeserving report?

Hi! New on here and this is my first post. I graduated a couple of years ago and am on my second OT position. I am currently PRN at an inpatient mental health setting in an urban area of northeast Ohio. My question is related to hourly pay. Anyone here a DOR? I have an opportunity to oversee a therapy department for a transitional care facility with independent, assisted, sub-acute, LTC, and a memory unit on sight. They are looking to hire 9 additional therapists to make up the team. Seems like a good opportunity as it is with a non-profit hospital organization contracting into the facility. My time would be split 50/50 between treating and management. Thoughts on must ask questions during my 2nd interview? Salary?

How is the Corona affecting your jobs?

We need to unionize and hold more leverage for pay. There’s no reason we should be managed by contractors and large scale companies. Not only is it unfair pay, but it’s bad for our communities. Can you imagine your local car ‘mechanic’ operating under the same structure..

Is it too much to ask a home health company for someone to shadow/orient? I was just hired PRN and that was something I asked for during the hiring process and the recruiter agreed. Never heard back and it’s been several weeks yet keep getting texts from the schedule if office to see patients. Is this typical for home health or a red flag?
