What are the odds Fisher Phillips associates in the Midwest get more than the lousy $10k annual raise this year?

At least you get a raise? I’m at a Big 4 and we won’t get any.

That’s crazy. Call them out. Unless you just didn’t meet your hours and it’s individual to you?…

Looking for a new roommate for a very affordable and spacious Capitol Hill apartment in a great location (right by Lincoln Park). 2bd + 1br. $1000 for the larger bedroom (2 closets!). Basement apartment but very well lit in common area. Hoping for someone chill and friendly, since we'll likely be seeing a lot of each other this year! Flexible move in anytime in October. Prefer female roommate (I'm female as well) since the bathroom is shared. Please message for more information if interested.

I’ve been at my company for 8 months. I just found out another designer who has been here for several years gets an annual bonus at the end of the fiscal year. I have never been told about a bonus and haven’t gotten one yet for the previous fiscal year that ended In July. Should I have been told I get a bonus when I signed on or are they typically a surprise?

Those in ID at regional firms: what are your billables and how do your bonuses work? I’m curious to see where ours are in comparison. 2,080 requirement.

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?

I’m working at an insurance defense firm, trying to target my practice to L&E. I’m overworked and underpaid, but gaining valuable experience I hope to pivot toward an eventual in-house counsel position. I recently was offered an opportunity to lateral to a national firm for a significant pay increase (150% salary increase, much better benefits, hybrid WFH options). Problem-I would be shifting gears to Toxic Tort. I’m torn between my passion and the money. I’m a second year associate. WWYD?
