For 401k, Deloitte contributes 25 cents for every 1 dollar we contribute. Its matched upto 6% of our salary. How is it other big 4?
My company matches every volunteer hour an employee does at $25 an hour up to 15k. Let’s say I volunteer for 500 hours and they match $7,500. Would I be able to claim that $7,500 when it comes to taxes? Or does my company claim it? Just trying to understand tax benefits. Gonna volunteer regardless

My mom is going through a very bad situation with her previous employer who is not paying her her correct retirement benefits after screwing up their paperwork. She worked for a school district for about 15 years. She has a case but she is afraid it’s not high value enough to attract the attention of the attorney. School district is now ghosting her. Been hell of a year so far. Sort of bittersweet. Lost my job a few months back. Laid off the first time. But my net worth is all time high. And not only that, this has been the fastest increase. 401k up 40% this year. Personal brokerage up 40%. And just refinanced at 2.5. Not sure whether to be sad or happy. Guess will go with happy for now.

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true?
