As someone who has potential ADHD thought patterns , I am also interested in learning more methods. The imposter syndrome or "what you focus on is what you get" seems to happen to many, but more especially women. I follow coaches to help me get perspectives. Or ask a trusted group of friends and workers to be a sounding board. Realize you are not alone and dont work in a vacuum. Helps keep you honest ;) . There's usually overwhelming learning curve so I work hard for 3 months then aim to work strategically. Focus on big impacts that you or olyour company care about. I can't do it all. So I do one hard thing, one easy thing and then some busy work. I make people a priority because that works for my leadership style. I also remember to work as a team because it's not all on you as the leader. Finally, give yourself grace and practice gratitude. Even failures are a gift of growth.
Sabotaging thought: The people who report to me and need me to guide them are way smarter and better than me and I can’t possibly add value to their lives.
Overcoming that: Reminding myself that I know OTHER things my team didn’t know, DIFFERENT things. And that I’m resourceful AF and can find any info I need, and learn anything I need to learn.
Actions that helped: Literally asking my team where and how I can help them and add value to their day or work life.
I just read this and this is sooo me. I am on my way to an interview and I want to process this thought and question and come back and answer.
