Juvenile Justice was also good, as is Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

If you’re into Chinese costume dramas, Who Rules the World is good.

I watched it on MTV when it happened and it looked pretty bad. Good to know there were some sane people in the crowd. ☺️

Hightown was a good series. Reminded me a little of the Wire.

like

Hurricane Katrina: Come Hell and High Water.

I was too young and lived abroad so I didn’t pay attention/remember Katrina, and it was insane watching the homemade videos and the recounts. From someone who knows nothing of it, it felt like Spike Lee did a good job of highlighting the residents, the inequalities, and some of the lasting effects in NOLA.

Check out Mindhunter if you haven’t watched it. One of my favorite series ever.

Hi boys & girls!

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Any advice welcome!

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Getting worried about hours. Last year I was really low (first year associate), I’ve had really good reviews so far and no negative feedback. This month was slow too (about 95), and I really don’t understand why I can’t get work? I’ve asked different partners, including the heads of my groups, but it hasn’t really materialized anything. Should I consider lateraling?

Any insight on Brewer (either office, generally curious about the firm). I assume comp after year 1 is discretionary, rather than lock-step, given the size of the firm. Should I take more initiative? It’s my stub year and I’m getting worried.
