I don’t have firsthand experience with a product that does this but agree it’s crucial for the success of any PM team that this be one tool! So much time is wasted updating the same information in 5 places for 5 outputs vs. 1!
I think 10,000 feet and Hive might do something like this.
Tbh according to product managers for these platforms it IS too much to ask haha. Def hear you on Asana, it’s never seemed scalable for a large agency IMO.
I’ve been through a ton of these explorations and found that Workfront and Mavenlink are both great. I rolled out Workfront to a 250+ person agency back in 2016 and it was pretty solid.
My agency (Huge) uses Mavenlink for resourcing, time tracking, burn reports and the like, then Smartsheet for project plans.
In my experience I haven’t found one that does them all the way I prefer haha. But if you do PLEASE share.
We currently use Wrike. It has the benefit of easy to use but sometimes lack the necessary functionality to be most powerful (however, maybe if you buy the Cadillac version it is)
Yep. It offers too many ways to view tasks/work, and each view has some unique functionality and that’s annoying. I just want consistency of functionality regardless of my view of a project or tasks.
I’ve had a few demos with Workfront and liked it, but I have yet to see a one-size-fits-all solution.
We currently use Advantage and Smartsheets with the occasional Excel doc. If you find something that does have everything you’re looking for I’d love to know!
Work front is so expensive so unless you are using at scale in an enterprise or agency setting, it tends to be the bazooka solution to swatting a fly.
I had the chance to review Deltek and enjoyed the functionality and what it had to offer. Recently I came from an agency that uses Workamajig, it did have its struggles, but it’s better than Excel and SmartSheets.
It used to be we needed a magical person but now as we scale we're all looking for the magical PM software. We just started using NetSuite as an ERP. It's good for finance but pretty bad for project management. I think this is a really useful thread that a lot of people would be interested in so please I encourage anyone with experience in with agency experience with PM tools to chime in...
Smartsheet all the way. It does it all.
Just need someone to do a custom build for you and then enforce the use/process.
we use smartsheet + 10,000ft but since they merged its been a terrible customer experience and even though they're under 1 umbrella, they don't sync up without tripling our costs, looking to make a change
