They are okay. It’s hard to warrant one when golf apps are free in todays day and age. And you can put the excess money you save into a range finder instead which is more accurate anyway.
Golf shot is good. $50 year membership can use on any course and pretty accurate. I use it with my Apple Watch
Pro
Range finder is the way to go for sure
I have the garmin approach s60 and love it. Fairly accurate and like how it can track club distances. I also downloaded an app for skiing and use it to track speed, # of runs, elevation etc. highly recommended
Range finder all the way
My father in law has a Garmin one (might be this one), he loves it and uses it every day when golfing. He was able to download his local course on it.

Heard these are good if you just want yardage
I use a range finder so I can get an accurate distance reading that calculates slope. I also use a Garmin vivoactive to keep score which downloads to Garmin golf app which is pretty cool. The Garmin is also handy to measure your driving distance, especially when you lose a ball you’ll know roughy where you should be looking
Range finder
Get a Bushnell. Also recommend ARCCOS if you are serious about tracking how far you really hit it on the course - Vs crap on the range.
Garmin also has sensors with no subscription fee.
Around here palm beach county 1out of 2 or 3 have good size screens with gps built in
Spend the money on mid size grips if you are young or jumbo if you are older
i love my garmin. I hate range finders. For some reason my hands shake, just enough, to make them super frustrating. I’ve had two garmins and really like them. Super easy to use, tracks fitness (steps, etc.), some have golf swing specific apps. Also, exact yardages for most of us are useless. Front, back, center and carry yardages for hazards are all I ever need and golf watches are easier for that than range finders.
Get a Nikon they have a stabilizing feature. It’s truly a game changer as my hands shake a bit as well.
