I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce

I like their watches from the 60s and 70s. Personally, one of my favorite watches in my collection is my 1971 Longines Comet
This is a $6k 18k gold watch, which is a lot cheaper than pretty much any other new gold watches I've found. The next tier up seems to be around 15k for IWC or Nomos. Just trying to figure out if there's any red flags given the price discrepancy.
Agree, longines makes more interesting watches for less money. I guess if you really want cheap solid gold then this is a good entry point but you don’t get much else.
Not so keen on this particular model, my favourite of their dress models is probably the Longines Heritage Moonphase. They have a deep catalogue with some highlights like Conquest, Hydroconquest, Spirit & Spirit Zulu Time, Legend Diver.
Personally I own a Conquest and would buy more Longines in the future.
Imo they’re ok. A couple of models that are more worthwhile, but otherwise typically would prefer other watchmakers.
But if you like this one / Longines in general, go for it. They’re not a ripoff / junk brand by any means
I personally think they’re super classy and well-made! I also think they’ve released a lot of good “value-packed” watches in the recent past (spirit zulu, ultra chron, heritage collection, among many others).
I suspect they’re not likely to be a “hype” brand or even at the forefront of what people think of in terms of “luxury” watches, but so what? For those who can recognize the value/quality and end up buying, they’ll have one heck of a timepiece to enjoy :)
Yes, I was more referring to currently and in the future. It’s a shame it’s not considered the way it was in the past. I’m a big fan.
I think they’re overpriced. They price in their “brand” at 100%+ what a microbrand would command in the market, but for me their brand is negative and should result in a discount
As long as you like it, then that's all that matters right? Don't matter what we think. It's not our money. But curious, why this model?
