I never thought I’d say this, but I kinda miss the networking events and stuff. I used to just show up to those to be a good “firm citizen,” but I’d really love to see another lawyer in person instead of through a Zoom call. If I ran into one of my old classmates from law school, I’d probably hug them right now.
Started out hating Zoom depos. Kind of like them now. In hour two of a co-defendant’s examination, which is entirely irrelevant to my client, and I’ve clipped my nails, stretched fully, planned a hike for the weekend, ordered my home goods off Amazon, and it’s all billable time because I’m stuck on this thing.

Which tech companies fared the best during pandemic? As in, revenue skyrocketed. Let's assume Zoom already - more obscure ones welcome.
How should I approach an ominous zoom appointment with supervisinpartner and managing partner? I’m a 3rd year associate. This is a new job, my first day was the first day the whole firm worked from home. It’s also much more challenging and demanding than my previous firm, which is what I wanted, but I haven’t been able to dive in and face the challenge the way I had planned to because I’m really struggling with working from home, both logistically and psychologically....
S/o to the Veritas Technologies LLC recruiter who reached out to me via LI for an interview for an AE role. We set a date and he had an emergency the day off and asked to reschedule. Day of the reschedule; no-show’d for the Zoom Call and ignored my messages, emails and call after. completely ghosted me 👻
What’s interviewing been like for you all lately?
Someone logs onto a Zoom meeting of 40 people while also on a Teams call:
“Does this shirt make me look naked?”
Anyone with experience at Slack have opinions to share? Currently very interested in a specific role there, and would like to know more about what it's like to work there.
Can’t tell if I’m developing crushes on my coworkers only because they’re the only people I interact with (on zoom) in quarantine 😬
Is it justifiable to ask for a raise after 7-months? Especially if you’re the only designer on some of their biggest clients, carrying slack from seniors + producing quality work in no time?
I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?
Has anyone seen any unique places to find UX portfolios or post jobs other than the usual suspects?
Some UX Slack channels were doing well for a while but I definitely don’t see as much traction there. Meetups obviously came and went. Even the portfolio sites like Dribbble and Behance don’t seem that same.
Teaching Autistic Support via Zoom is so difficult. The behaviors are way worse and there is next to nothing I can do to help my students parents.
Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?
So you are interested in collaborating? I have been teaching Avid since 2006-ish. Any suggestions on how to transition to distance learning on Microsoft Teams? How does that look in Avid?
Account Person: "I miss in-person meetings. They're too short on Zoom."
Me: (clicks mute)
Hi Everyone! Thank you all for joining! Please message ideas if we have a second call. I know Zoom can be hard.
Also - FYI - This bowl limits posts to 2 every 4 hours so couldn't send anything earlier.
Is there anyone that works at Slack that would be willing to give me a referral for their Corporate Counsel (Commercial) position?! I really want this job so please send me a message if so and we can work something out! TIA!
I’m 24 and started as an infrastructure analyst in January at Accenture/Av. Came in with about 4 years of help desk experience. The older I get the more I realize that the $86K I make is not really much. Currently looking to pivot somewhere doing something I could be making $150K or more with… anything that doesn’t involve coding tbh.
Gut, Mischief, Courage…what do we think the next startup shop name will be? Bravery? Valour? Contempt?
All, I have an ask. Some people are afraid to post here because the networking function at the top of the bowl is using the stock photos. This is because there are only four of us that have networking enabled. So I’m going to ask every one everyone to please enable networking. This will also enable connecting with other Black professionals.
Hi all! I'm a Senior Consultant with 3 years of technical Salesforce development expertise. Currently working as a developer manager on client projects, and I have excellent mentoring and management experience. I am looking to pivot into a somewhat technical leadership role. Think 50% people management, 50% technical. Doesn't have to be Salesforce. Any recommendations and referrals you could send my way would be very appreciated 🙂

Crossing off things on my bucket list - are those famous steakhouses worth the $? Like Wolfgang's or well known places like those :)
My whole life I’ve had shorter-term education goals that kept me motivated. Graduate from university in 4 years, graduate from law school, make law review, etc. Now that I’m practicing, I can’t think of any short-term goals to keep me motivated. Obviously by shorter-term I mean a few years. I want to make partner someday, but that’s not for 7+ years (realistically. Please let me know if I’m wrong). Can you ladies tell me what your shorter-term goals are that keep you motivated?
For experienced realtors, how long have you been doing your job and why do you still love it? I'm fairly new to the field, but I'm excited for the future opportunities that I can already see!
Deloitte folks, are you mapped specifically to healthcare or just to a “strategy and ops” type group?
I am a consulting analyst who would like to become an investment banking analyst. I have seen a lot of positions requiring candidates with 1-3 years experiences in IB. I have the skills to do the job requirements but have not got the opportunity to get an interview. Anyone who has been in the industry would like to share some tips or share the type of skills that will stand out when getting screened by HR for the first interview, please let me know. I just need 10 minutes of your time.

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance
Hi everyone! Can someone tell me the best companies that allow employees to work outside the country with might restrictions? I work at major FAANG tech company currently and I want to see my options. Thank you!!
Hi! I'm entering the work force after being a stay at home mom for the last 13 years. The application and hiring process has changed so much. I've uploaded my resume to several job search sites and am beginning to get emails from interested companies. How do I filter through them to find legitimate potential opportunities? Some seem scammy.
Just started a new job and three people from the team have put in their notice or have left. Not a good look.
Hey I have worked in the truck industry for a while now with heavy haul and regular haul experience. Just thought I’d see what kind of jobs I can get remotely. I originally was going to go to school for special effects and animation with computers. I have extensive knowledge with computers. Is there any good sites I can visit with jobs hiring remotely with good starting pay?
I would love to hear what other people have to say about onboarding remotely because I will be going through the process myself in a few weeks. of course I will share my experience as I’m going through it!
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to avoid entering your work history dates beyond 15 years on those online applications that will not submit unless you enter dates! I was advised by job experts not to include any jobs over 15 years, but that will limit me to two jobs which do not reflect my scope of experiences. I had no idea it would be this difficult returning to work after retirement. Thank you in advance for any help in this area.
I just applied to a company named Zearn.
I have applied to this company since I have education background and also a customer service representative experience.
