What do you guys do to keep a running task list? I’ve been just using pen and paper my whole career but after misplacing my notebook for a week I’m considering a new option.

Used to like physical pen and paper too, but recently have really liked typing it out, just gives way more flexibility to add things/make updates as the tasks evolve

I keep an ongoing OneNote. It's just easier for me to see what's left, what's done, and what's priority.

Good idea

Monday.com has been an amazing resource for my team

I use the tasks feature in outlook. I prefer actually writing stuff down and crossing it off, but the task list on outlook helps me keep everything organized and on my laptop, which helps in case I’m ever traveling for work and don’t have to worry about a physical task list

Same here! I absolutely love the task bar in outlook!

My boss

Haha awesome response.

I have 3 YOE as a Software Developer. I currently work as a React/Node developer making 87k per year (I know that is pretty low, my manager will admit it) He has made it clear that I am the most skilled developer on the team, and I am getting promoted to Senior Dev. I would like to know what I should be shooting to make? I really like my job and ideally don't want to move companies, but would like some realistic expectations for what I should be earning.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

SO and I (no kids) will be moving to Bay Area in early 2020 with a car. Both will be working in the Palo Alto / Mountain View Area. Better to just live where we work or possible to commute from SF?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
