We all think they overpaid but they’re securing themselves as a true one-stop-shop in the industry…
LiveRamp’s value is being a neutral third party for brands and agencies running media through their system. The acquisition price is based on those contracts and future growth potential. But the current contracts will disappear now that they aren’t neutral.
So yea, Publicis overpaid.
Debatable. I don’t know WPPs full tech stack well. From the trades seems like the closest competitor is likely Omnicom via Axciom.
It basically says to potential clients, why bother using another agency when they are using our tech stack (live ramp and epsilon). Add that to the fact that they buy 30% of all the media, it makes a relatively simple yet compelling new business case
