I think there are a couple of different angles on this. At the end of the day, insurance is a people business. The longer you work within an underwriting territory the stronger your relationships with the agents will be. That along with understanding how to navigate underwriting at the company can be advantages of staying.
If you move around you can gain a variety of perspectives. It is also a quick way to gain quick salary increases. You can also try out different lines of business and specialty areas. Downside of this is that you have to make sure you are learning and growing with each move. If you move every 2 years you may barely exit onboarding start your book assignment and move before you ever really do all that much. Just have to make sure you’re actually learning and growing with each move.
