What do you think is the least stressful job to have in vetmed?

Honestly, being at the front desk. I went to Vet school, but sometimes I have to take the front desk because that is just how we do it in my clinic, we like to take turns on different days. Front desk allows me to... not stress out over the animals people bring in, and I get to interact with customers which I love doing!

Where I work, the front desk may be the most stressful. They take the brunt of people being upset. Especially if we can’t get them in when they want

I once worked in a clinic that only treated small animals, such as puppies and kittens. We didn't take emergencies either, it was only for regular checkups and stuff. Best job ever!

I don't know about other people, but I've always enjoyed treating with customers. I dislike performing surgeries because I get extremely anxious, and it was decide between our team that I would only be working customer-facing jobs, while leaving the more... complex issues to my coworkers. I'm actually super grateful for this team!

I need help. I think I’m being underpaid at my job I’ve been at for 3 1/2 years. I’m a full time receptionist for a veterinary hospital but I also manage the reception area (I answer all questions and if someone makes a mistake I’m the one the fix it) and am an in house trained veterinary assistant but can do a techs job (unlicensed) and I do help the technicians out anytime they need and I’m only getting paid $13 an hour while a crew member at arbys gets paid $15 . What should I do ?

I’m a tech at an overwhelmed clinic. The money-hungry owner keeps hiring assistants with 0 experience to save money and the place is falling apart as a result. Do I try to make the argument for getting experienced help, or is it time to run?

Unpopular opinion: as a vet, I can assure animals can be as mean as human beings, they just can't speak up for you to know. And they also have the power to dislike you.

I’m a very experienced veterinary assistant who has been doing this job for about 4 years in total however because of my skill level I would say I am more of an unlicensed technician. I’m looking for input on what I should ask for a raise. Given the minimum wage, I make about $5 over but that hasn’t really changed to match inflation of living, etc and truly feel like I should be making a decent amount more given my skills. Any helpful advice?

How do you address pay discrepancies? I just found out a VT hired a year after me, with less experience, is making $2 more an hour. She was hired when they were desperate for staff which I’m guessing is why, but I’ve felt bitter ever since finding out.
