Considering an in-house position at a firm client (firm is not aware of my interest), and I have worked directly with the AGC that would be my supervisor. Thoughts on reaching out to the AGC directly to convey interest?

Career dev advice needed. Being offered a promotion (would be reporting to my current skip and managing/growing a team). The role is global subsidiary management/governance. But the work does not appeal to me, I’ve been doing some of it and it’s so much admin and people management. I’m not practicing law at all. As my title indicates, I'm both a product and a privacy counsel at my tech co. The product is consumer-facing and deals w/ privacy issues, so lots of overlap.
