I currently work at Vestas. Not in the US though. I really like the work. I moved from Big law and it was really good to get work life balance and full control over the work.

My anecdotal experience (acting for a developer in Asia negotiating turbine supply and O&M agreements across from them) is that they are incredibly sophisticated but push their own standard forms which often don’t work in a limited recourse / project finance context. Ultimately got the deal through but took a lot longer than expected. If you understand bankability form a project company’s perspective, you will probably be able to add a lot of good commercial insight to the team.

If you’re into wind, I would go for a developer or multilateral role instead.

Thank you!

I'm a brand new attorney (passed the Feb 2021 bar) who started an in-house counsel position a few months ago (where my focus is negotiating agreements for the sale of my company's software). I was a contracts manager on an in-house team for 4 years prior, which is why I was able to go straight in-house. I'm entirely skipping out on firm life, which feels both good and bad. Is there anything I should think about getting experience in? How should I go about making sure I am seeing enough things?

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $400k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!

I’m having a hard time finding firms that are hiring entry level associate positions that don’t require at least 3+ years experience in-house. Should I start at a business law firm to get experience working with corporations first?
