What is something you wish you had known about insurance before you started? Mine: I didn't fully realize how different Kaiser is from the BUCAs. Especially when I first started 20 years ago.

One thing I wish I had known before starting in insurance is just how much attention to detail and documentation really matter. It’s not just about understanding policies. Small wording differences, exclusions, or missing details can have huge consequences later.

Yep! I work with someone who is an attorney, although that's not her job here and most people don't know. But she sure knows good questions to ask our attorneys!

How fast 30 yrs go by. Sure, there's stress - most jobs are. But, the pace is so fast the years melted away quickly.

Isn't that true in any job though?

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!
