“Don’t just live for yourself. Figure out your God-given purpose and do that!” What about for you?
"Don't be an idiot." It changed my life. Whenever I’m about to do something, I think, "Would an idiot do that?" And if they would, I do NOT do that thing.
😂 solid advice!
My old boss had cancer that kept coming back. He's always been a jolly man. Anyway, he told me to control what I can control and leave the rest up to god. In times of stress, I hear him in my head, and everything is suddenly fine.
Things like this really make to take a step back and appreciate what you do have!
Focus on yourself.
Keep in mind, the OP is asking in M&A bowl. In context, it is advice towards careers and WLB.
It's interesting how certain words of advice simply linger with you. One of the best nuggets I ever got was from my old boss, who told me, "Don't be afraid to embrace the chaos." At first, I was like, "What chaos?" But then I realized that life can be a bit of a rollercoaster, especially at work. Rather than worrying about every turn, I've learned to let things happen as they happen and look for opportunities in the unexpected. It has completely changed the way I go about things.
