Current first year at a LMM PE fund, base+bonus is $200K with 2 previous YOE in consulting. working ~40 hours a week and loing my job, significant upside with co-invest and fast promotion.
Yeah, how’s the flow?
My first 18 months in LMM I closed 3 deals. Slow times were probably 55 hours, seldom 40.

UMM in Boston, first year associate after 3 years consulting was $250k cash last year, now it’s closer to $300k cash (co-invest but no carry)
You guys hiring?
Been at my MM PE shop for a little under two years now, straight out of undergrad. Analyst year was ~$190k all in (90/100 bonus) and Associate year is $275k all in (155/115 bonus) with meaningful carry placement.
Hours fluctuate as is normal in with deals. When a process is hot, can be 80+. When things are Pre-IOI, can be 40-60. Feels manageable given the transparent expectations and autonomy at my firm.

UMM PE. VC will be much less. This is actually pretty standard for UMM PE, know lot of folks now closer to $350+ at various firms
$175-$200k should be your goal. Totally achievable.
Yes, lets get that money! I would aim for around the 180k mark.
General question for this thread, kinda new here … Are these numbers for T1 cities (NYC, Chicago, SF, etc)?
I was 125/125 as a first year associate in VC after 2 years IB ~4-5 years ago
