I always read Charlotte's Web with my students. They enjoy reading the story over and over again. I proposed some other stories but it's always the same book that we end up with.
I still remember my 4th grade teacher being too overcome with emotions to finish the book - a classmate took over for her. 😁

I have a very long list, but we use Core Knowledge ELA so I start there when I need something additional. I also love The BFG be careful in 1st it can be scary. All the classics like Charlotte's Web, The Little Prince, anything that teachers morals through story telling. We love Fairy Tales and Aesop's Fables.

I did the "Who Moved my Cheese" book with my students. We made little posters to put up in the room. It was a fun experience.

HS ELA here so I don’t read too many books out loud, but I love to read Beowulf to classes, the Seamus Heaney translation. The kids enjoy it as well.
