I simply asked for a lot of money. They needed me bad enough they put me in the Senior Manager role to make the salary happen. You probably won’t get there how you’re expecting. Cap wasn’t my top pick but they’ve been good to me.
This really doesn’t address what traits you had that made them “need you bad enough.” Could you shed some light on that?

It was a niche skill that got me the job. It’s not a list of traits that will get you there. They were in trouble in that area, multi-million dollar deal at stake. I came in day 1 and restored confidence with the client. That was my test. I was friends with the clients by day 2. So maybe that’s it. The ability to walk into difficult situations and having enough experience to navigate it, most would call it leadership. I’ve recovered two of those accounts saving them 6 million in lost revenue. That’s the trait that allows me to keep the job and it heavily relies on 20 years of experiences. I don’t have to Google every answer like I did when I was mid level in my career.
