What kind of budget friendly gifts are you purchasing/making for Christmas?

I do a wall calendar for my parents every year with each month being a different picture of one/both of my daughters (their only grandkids) and I make it to them, from the girls. It's quick and cheap and we have a good time picking out the photos. My parents always know what they're getting but they never know exactly what it's going to look like. They love it.

That's a really sweet gift, I'm sure they love seeing the photos each year

I raided post-Halloween sales to grab costumes for my kids for a dress up area.

Great idea! I'm sure they will love that

I make mason jar treats for all my kids' teachers. It's a fun activity to do with the kids and the teachers always appreciate the effort (or at least that's what they say).

This is an awesome idea!

I make handmade jewelry and am gifting it to everyone on my list. It takes a lot of time, but the pieces do come out beautiful in my opinion.

Sounds beautiful!

I'm buying candles and Amazon gifts cards. I like gift cards as a safe bet so that way I know that they will use them. I hate wasting money on gifts that people never use.

Yeah, I agree that gift cards can sometimes be the best way to go!

For the adults, we try to find gift cards on sale to either give the person or to buy a gift from that place with the discounted gift card we purchased. For my 7 year old niece, I made her a little gift basket with a Christmas ornament, candy, a puzzle, and a small kid insulated coffee cup with a lid. We love thinking of personalized gifts within a budgeted range. Last year we found a personalized soft large blanket for $20 on Amazon. Great quality and was able to fit like 10 pictures on the blanket. We love buying car gadgets for teens (I.e. small tire inflator/portable air compressor, jumper cables, led flashlight, small tool kit, etc). We always try to buy Christmas ideas or discounted gift cards throughout the year to maximize our savings.

Please remember, when you’re asking for salary information, it’s important to mention where you are located. For example, $100,000 is going to be a lot more in Mississippi than in San Francisco. Thanks guys.

I don’t understand how someone can lie about loving you for 6 months. We were together for almost a year (broke up a week before our anniversary). I said I love you first and he said it back. I asked for more reassurance last month with saying I love you more often. Now all of a sudden he said he didn’t know if he loved me and that love meant marriage for him. Okay well great thanks for telling me this now, 6 months after it was initially exchanged. I don’t understand how he could do that.

I am concerned about the negative reviews relating to the PwC acceleration centres in general, and getting stuck in a role which does not provide growth opportunities. Thank you.

Has anyone refinanced their student loans on h1b visa? Is common bond the only option?

In a perfect world how much would you want to make a year to both pay off your loans and live a good life? I think I'd need to make upwards of $200k to pay off my loans, take care of my family and live a fulfilling life.

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. I am 34 yo, i graduated with 95k in student loans, i currently have 85k left and i make 85k in come. I’m also a single mom with two kids. Just praying for 100% student loans forgiveness. Wishful thinking???

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

If you didn't have to pay off any more of your student loans what would you use the money for instead? I'm stuck between something impractical like a trip somewhere or something I need like a new car lol

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?
