Wellbutrin can make anxiety worse unfortunately.
I had terrible anxiety when I worked at Deloitte. It was to the point I would dream about work and something bad happening and then I would wake up in a panic. Everyone expected perfection and 12 hours days. When I left for a new job, my anxiety went way down. I had no idea how much working at Deloitte was destroying my mental health.

Where are you now
Have you been to any sort of therapy to deal with the underlying issues that are causing your anxiety and depression? I'm so sorry to hear you've started having panic attacks, it is so much to deal with. Have you been able to identify what triggers these attacks?

OP, I understand wanting to know how others reacted to Wellbutrin, but medication is one of those things where people react differently to it. Some people find a medication that works only to have it stop working over time. It’s not uncommon and shouldn’t be cause for panic.
If you’re just starting on your medication journey, it may be helpful to have genetic testing done to see if you have mutations that make certain classes of SSRI ineffective. It can save you years of cycling through medications that have little chance of working for you.
Genomind is just one company that does these tests and your doctor can request it be done. For a sizable part of the population that struggles with mental well-being, they’ve found a MTHFR mutation that inhibits the processing of folate, which helps the body to make serotonin.
Read up on whatever medication you’re prescribed and make sure you understand both the side effects, how long it should take for it to become effective, and how to know if it’s not effective. Med management can be difficult and I’ve found that many who prescribe antidepressants, anti anxiety meds, or SNRIs don’t necessarily listen to the patient or wait too long when something isn’t working. Don’t give up. Find the medication that works for you and if the doctor you’re working with isn’t meeting your standard for helping you navigate medication, find a new one.
I take off a lot of time from work and limit how much I work so I can manage the things that stress worry me. Random fridays off help a ton. I get things done and rest.

I have taken Wellbutrin and it helped me for a bit. Honestly anxiety is just a symptom of something deeper within you, hence why it’s incredibly important to have therapy go hand in hand with meds. Otherwise you’ll be treating the symptom for the rest of your life. Much love!
I’ve taken it for a couple days and it seems to help. I’ve been in therapy for about two years now. It barely got bad enough for me to ask for meds
