People at military bases are nicer usually. I mean they usually healthy population in general with access to healthcare while civilian side you get a lot more exposure with pt who are sicker and some are less civil.
I left active duty about 15 months ago, I was Navy Corpsman - surgical tech. It is a struggle to get in for an interview with any industry. Any networking you can do while you are active duty will be worth it's weight in gold. Or just stay in and take advantage of those benefits, if you don't yet have a B.S., get one and let the job market stabilize before going ashore. Best of luck to you!
