I'd want some explanation as to why all that is happening. I would be frustrated for sure if it happened out of the blue. But if I was at a smaller company that I really loved and they gave us a heads up of salary dropping due to finances, etc. I may consider staying for a bit while I look for a new opportunity.
It’s a large corp for me 😩
I'd probably start looking for something new immediately. A reduced salary or compensation package seems like a precursor to layoffs, not to mention that you would probably be making under market rates and hopefully able to find something better.
The sad thing is there have continuously been layoffs. Reaching a point where more layoffs would be doubling people’s workload. But agree about below market rates. It’s tough.
This exact scenario happened to me when the stock market started getting rocky this year. My boss eliminated our bonus system yet still required us to continue pushing for the same levels we were achieving. I walked, and so did 3 others (the office only had 8 team members). I stayed in touch with an old coworker still there and she said I made the right choice because the morale is awful. The only reason we were doing so well was the joint effort to push for those production bonuses (which were the majority of our paychecks).
Good that you were able to find something better. How’s the new gig been?
I'd be applying furiously and leaving the second I got an offer. Things are only going to get worse at that company, not better. You should be planning to jump ship as soon as humanly possible.
😔 you just may be right C1
