What’s a deal breaker for you with respect to a job ? For example I’ve been at my job for 10 years but for me the deal breaker is going to be the poor management they continue to have … losing my patience !

It's so true that people quit managers, not jobs. Every job I have ever left has either been because of my pay not keeping up with market value, or managers who make my job harder for the sake of it.

Hi all! I work at a nonprofit and am looking to leave the organization. As I browse available positions in my area, I’m realizing there is a LOT of crossover between my current org and others, for example shared board members, folks who are on our board and employed at one of the institutions I’m interested in, etc.. Is there a way to say “my current org doesn’t know I’m looking, so please treat my interest with discretion” that doesn’t raise red flags? Thanks!

How long does HCL take to release the offer?

I have taken the interview on 27th July 2022 and next day I got an update that I am selected and I will be connected by HR for further proceedings.

With all details I have shared, I have been told that the approvals are pending and the offer will get released soon.

Now, they have mentioned it will be released next week.

Your thoughts on this, TIA

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??
